She specializes in photo-graphic style portraits, modern abstracts, animals, and landscapes.

Valerie, who is also a ten-year Army veteran received a special commission in 2014 to design a special quilt that now hangs in the welcome center of the Iowa Veteran’s Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa. Valerie’s quilting style is as colorful as it is unique. Meet Valerie at the Quilting Connection, 238 Main Street in Ames, as she shares her personal story about what led her to Iowa and quilting as well as her journey to publishing patterns and her first book.
